Lori's Book Nook

In the middle to two big books

Posted on: July 5, 2006

I’m now into both books that are being discussed this quarter on BookTalk.org — A Peace to End all Peace by David Fromkin and Breaking the Spell by Daniel Dennett.

Just as an example of why I spend time with this group of people online, here is one of the current topics under discussion. Intelligent without being obnoxious, deep without being uptight…these are some friendly, open minds.

I’m getting into the Dennett book a bit more easily, as I’m more accustomed to reading about culture and religion. The Fromkin book is all about the Middle East, and I’ve got a bit of a mental block on the history of that area…not sure why. I’m hoping this endeavor will clear it.
